Soaking Prayer
Led by David and Crickett Clayton
Course No. S04 - Meets in the sanctuary the 3rd Sunday of every month at 5 pm

Psalm 37:7 "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him." This essentially is what "soaking" is. When we soak in God's presence, we are in a place of rest where we wait upon Him. Soaking in the Lord has an e emphasis on rest and receiving by faith, as opposed to striving and crying out to God.

To "soak something" is more than a five minute dip. It is allowing it to become saturated and full of what it is soaking in. Soaking involves becoming saturated with God so that we take on God's flavor or nature. But God wants us to be transformed into the image of His Son and carry His fragrance and flavor.

Led by Lori Husted
Course No. T07 Tuesday night at 6:30 PM or Course No. W01 Wednesday at 10:00 AM

James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple with Beth Moore's study. James: Mercy Triumphs. Once you get to know both the man and the book of James, you'll never be the same again.

Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. in other ways, james more closely resembles the book of Proverbs than any other new Testament book. James is a book with many topics -- social justice, joy, hardship, faith reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts form above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer -- all of which are covered in this study.

Born Free, Live Free, Stay Free - Book of Galatian's
Led by Tammy Peterson
Course No. W10 Wednesday night at 6:30 PM in Pre-K room

Whenever a Christian begins to think that what they "do" or "don't do" is the basis of their Christians life or their "spirituality," then they have lapsed into Galatian thinking. "if only I don't smoke, drink, swear, or keep falling into the same sin; if only I prayed more, read my Bible more, witnessed more, went to church more, got along better with people or was a better parent..., then I would be a better Christian and would be more blessed by God." No! That is "Galatian thinking" and often takes the form of "how-to" Christianity in prescribed procedure, formulas, techniques, and duties which rob Christians of the true freedom promised in Christ. If you are interested in trading in the frustrations of trying to be a 'gooder' Christian for joys of living in the freedom of Christ, this study is for you!

Truth Project
Led by Tuck Sheasby
Course No. W12 Wednesday night at 6:30 PM at a host home in the Fox Farm Area

In a recent study, the Barna research group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9% of professing Christians have a biblical worldview, and only 27% of self-identified Christians even believe Satan exists. If the "roaring lion" who prowls about seeking whom he may devour (1Peter 5:8) can convince his prey to believe that he doesn't exist or to remain ignorant of his schemes, then there will be many who find themselves in grievous turmoil and unaware as to why.

A fierce spiritual battle is being waged. yet sadly, the vast majority of believers in our culture are ill-prepared to fight in this battle. We suffer from the same pathologies the world does and statistically, at roughly the same levels; divorce, sexual additions, eating disorders, depression, worry, apathy, discontentment, anger, abortion, poor media viewing habits, pornography.. and so on. How can this be? Quite simply, we are falling for the counterfeits. in our culture, the lies of the world, the flesh and the devil bombard us from every quarter. And when we fail to recognize them as lies and instead accept them as true, the consequences are significant devastating.

Developed by Focus on the Family, the Truth Project is based on the solution offered by Romans 12:2
